Benefits of Membership in the IEC Georgia Chapter
- IEC has a national, highly rated apprenticeship program that is approved by the U.S. department of Labor's Bureau of
Apprenticeship & Training. This program can provide trained workers to job sites and increase the productivity of the labor force. Current Programs are operating in the Columbus, Macon, and
Valdosta area. We are looking at starting programs in the Augusta and Savannah area.
- IEC offers a variety of Journeyman Upgrade and Contractor Continuing Education Courses that provide information on better
business practices.
- By working with other trade associations, IEC can create industry coalitions to support or oppose legislation. IEC also
has a lobbyist at the capitol that keeps the association informed of legislation that could affect our industry.
- IEC offers a Loan/Borrow Program to help member contractors deal with labor shortages and temporary slow
periods.
- IEC members network on a national and local level with other contractors and industry suppliers at national and state
conventions.
- National and local publications inform members of association and industry activities.
- IEC membership allows electrical contractors to repay their industry and to reap the intangible benefits of contractor
cooperation and upgrading the industry.
- IEC members receive a free comprehensive safety manual every other year.
